About FUNAI
Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, formerly Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), was established by the Federal Government on February 26th, 2011.
The goal of expand and improve access to quality tertiary education throughout Nigeria. It began academic activities on November 5, 2012.
It was officially renamed after the late civilian Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, by the Federal Government on February 2, 2018.
AE-FUNAI is located in Ebonyi State’s Ikwo Local Government Area, about 25 kilometers from Abakaliki, the state capital, at latitude 060 8.29′ N, longitude 080 8.627′ E, and altitude 55m (AMSL).
Ikwo is bounded to the north by the LGAs of Abakaliki and Ezza South, and to the south by Cross River State.
